What is JSAS?	What's New
JSAS is the Joint STATE-USAID Solution to the challenge of effective security awareness training. The two agencies have joined forces to provide comprehensive awareness coverage, based on established and proven learning principles, using a two-pronged approach: formal online courseware addressing initial, remedial, and periodic refresh training coupled with daily, focused, and rapidly-reconfigurable security Tip of the Day that together permit any agency to meet and to prove it has met FISMA awareness requirements. USAID's Tip of the Day is capable of delivering routine tips on a daily basis, special alerts to quickly address emerging issues, and targeted content required for specific audiences. The State Department's CyberSecurity Awareness course provides annual comprehensive information security awareness training through established registration, tracking and quality processes. Both products allow for customization of content, tracking of usage and teaching and tracking security policies which translate into effectiveness measures. JSAS is flexible to the customer’s needs, whether locally hosted or JSAS-hosted; it is Government Off-The-Shelf with options for customizing to agency-specific needs. The Foreign Service Institute is the e-training service provider for this initiative.	** JSAS is searching for a number of government agencies to review its generic IT Security Awareness course to determine if it would satisfy agency IT Security Awareness Training requirements without making changes to the course and to document what changes would be necessary to make the course truly generic. Any agency interested in participating in this effort should send an email to JSAS@state.gov with the name and telephone number of the point of contact. **

Solutions Provided!

As an authorized shared service provider recognized by the Department of Homeland Security, JSAS presents TWO solutions for security training and awareness:

CyberSecurity Awarenesss Course.
Information is one of the Department of State's critical resource. The CyberSecurity Awareness course is web-based, and designed to teach users ways to maintain and protect information on the computer. The subject matter is considered best practices for both Department and home use, and is mandatory for State Department use.

Security Tips of the Day.
Designed as a daily refresher training tool, Security Tips of the Day is an automatic tool that delivers awareness tips, keeping in the forefront how a user can protect and secure information. A simple interactive product that sends a one-a-day question and answer screen to users on security policy and issues.
