FSI's Mission
The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) is the Federal Government's primary training
institution for foreign affairs training for the U.S. Government community. As a
designated Federal wide eTraining Service Provider, FSI has a proven track record
of promoting government wide management efficiency and effectiveness as a leader
in the eTraining arena. FSI is one of only four Information Systems Security Line
of Business (ISSLoB) Security & Awareness Training Shared Service Centers (SSC)
responsible for providing a common suite of information systems security training
products and services for the Federal government.
Located at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, FSI provides
more than 600 courses—including some 70 foreign languages—to more than 100,000 enrollees
a year from the State Department and more than 47 other government agencies and
the military service branches.
About JSAS
The Joint Security Awareness Solution (JSAS) is an Internet based security awareness
training and testing application that helps Federal agencies meet annual FISMA compliance.
The software consists of a one hour, online, interactive course followed by a short
exam. Agencies can customize the product based on mission needs, personnel roles,
and identified security risks. FSI offers this SCORM-compliant product as either
a hosted solution at a competitive price or a handover ready solution if customers
operate their own internal learning management systems.
